Twenty-eight years ago, I left my job as a journalist so I could write a novel.
I was sure the words would flow out of me, once I had the time and space.
They did not.
Instead, I re-wrote the first page over and over, thinking I had to get it perfect before I moved on. (And it was far from perfect.)
It was an incredibly disheartening time and I was sure I'd made a terrible mistake.
But I learned some important lessons about writing a first draft - which I've gone on to use in the seven novels I've written since.

What people have said about this course:
This course has got me on a roll. Very much so. Enjoying that I can do it at my own pace, and also very timely as I’ve had this big idea for quite some time.
